I got some coconut flour to review.
I've had problems replacing all recipes with it. Some food just turn out too dense. I love that when I use it, less sweetener is needed for the foods to taste good. Coconut has natural sweetener in it. What to do to make foods less dense? I just use part all purpose or whole wheat flour and the other part coconut flour. This works great!
1 Organic Coconut Flour - 2.2 lbs.
This morning I made Blueberry Pancakes. A basic recipe of Crepes worked great. Than I added my own modifications. *Remember Coconut Flour makes recipes more dense.
In a bowl combine 2 beaten eggs, 1 1/2 cups almond milk, 3/4 cup all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup coconut flour, 1 tablespoon coconut oil and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Stir well! Then I spooned it onto a cooking platter and plopped in some blueberries. My kids and I loved them! I always add blueberries separate from the batter because my husband likes his pancakes plain. He liked his to!
32-oz. - Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil - 1 quart
If you order either of the things above, through the links provided you can get a free coconut oil recipe book with your order!

This Morning We Drank Spinach Apple Juice
I've been trying to figure out ways to get our boys to eat veggies, even at breakfast time. ;) They are pretty good eaters. It is hard to convince them that veggies can be eaten for breakfast.
This morning I made what I called, "Shrek Juice." It was 2 apples (Granny Smith are sweeter and taste better with this juice, but use whatever kind you have.) Add 1 bag or 1 clump of washed spinach. I always make our juice in a glass 4 cup measuring cup, so I can see how much I'm making. This recipe made about 3 cups and I topped it off with 1 cup of water. 4 cups is a great amount for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids.
Both kids sucked this juice down like there were no veggies in it.

Acidophilus - Review
I got a chance to review Milk Free Acidophilus by Homeopathic & Natural Health Paradise.
Both of my babies, which are now boys had life threatening illnesses when they were babies. Mica had a staph infection in his neck and Isaak had meningitis. They had a lot of antibiotics to get better. Although antibiotics saved their lives, they also gave them both baby eczema. I tried many topical things to get their eczema to go away. None of those things worked. Once I gave them probiotics, their eczema went away with time. I am a believer in probiotics.
It's really important to me to have the supplement facts very visible. Acidophilus by Homeopathic & Natural Health Paradise has the supplement facts both on the bottle as well as their website.

Omega 3-6-9
I got a chance to review Omega 3-6-9 by Homeopathic & Natural Health Paradise.
Ever since my Grandma was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease; I've been worried about other people in my family (including myself) getting it. Puzzles help with brain development. I work on crossword puzzles and even write them for my exams (I'm a teacher). I also know that Omega helps with brain development.
It is recommended to take Omega 3-6-9 two to three times daily.
Omega 3-6-9 combines fatty acids that are essential and necessary for a good health. Here's how each omega works:
Omega 3 helps with prevention of heart disease and heart attack complications. It regulates lipid levels, lowers blood pressure and improves glucose metabolism. Omega 3 supports growth and development on children, especially their nervous tissue; it improves cognitive function and emotional health. It is an anti-inflammatory and provides protection against cardiovascular disease, arthritis, skin conditions, depression and other mood-related disorders.
Omega 6 helps with bloating and pain associated to PMS. It supports healthy skin, hair and nails; generally it brings hormonal and emotional balance.
Omega 9 has many preventative qualities as its main component, oleic acid, helps reduce the risk of arteriosclerosis, cardiovascular disease and stroke.
I love that by taking this, it actually helps with PMS and brings emotional balance. I have never thought of myself as being overly emotional. Ever since my nephew was born in June; I've been a stress ball. He has Trisomy 18, which only 10% make it past the age of 1. I know everything happens for a reason. His birth has changed the dynamics of how everything works in our family. I love him, but the worry and stress has multiplied big time in my life. I'm not even his mother and his little life has effected me. This product helps channel that stress.

Child-Vite - Review
I got a chance to review Child-Vite by Homeopathic & Natural Health Paradise.
I was a little worried that my boys wouldn't go for healthier vitamins. They are not shaped like fun characters. Even the bottle isn't as whimsical as what they are used to. To my surprise, they were excited to try something new! They must of tasted great.
The boys have always gotten one vitamin a day. With Child-Vite it is recommended to take two daily. If we forget, our children remember. I want them to have one just in case they are lacking something in their diet. Our boys are pretty good eaters. Sometimes they will refuse to eat certain things. Vitamins are not to replace food. I continue to give our kids a well balanced diet. Vitamins are great supplements for the things we need. They work best when the people taking them are active in their daily life and are taken with food.
I love that Child-Vite is chewable! I just don't think our kids are ready to take pills that are ones that have to be swallowed.

Family Gym Time
My family was lucky enough to win a three month membership with the YMCA.
We've been going for almost 3 months. At first I felt a little overwhelmed with all the different times they had on papers, papers and more papers. It's really easy now. At first it just seemed overwhelming.
Tuesday and Thursday they have family gym time. It's where families get together to stretch, talk about nutrition and play games.
The first time we went our three year old Isaak wouldn't participate in stretching at all. He was in fact a grump about it! This last time, Isaak kept watching me and stretching right along with me.
The first time we had 2 groups and had races to go down the gym different ways. The one I found most awkward was going down the gym doing the bear crawl. Once we got to the other side, we had to rip off the wall a tag that said to do something. Jumping Jacks, sit ups, push ups and more were on the wall.
Last week Mica (age 6) and Daddy got to play soccer on scooters. I had to stay home because Isaak didn't nap that day and was WAY OVER TIRED!
This week we played nutrition tag. Someone stood in the middle of the gym and said some kind of fruit or veggie. The people that ate the one called off got a free pass, while the others had to wait. When the word, "GO!" was called off everyone ran before the middle person could tag the line of people. Whoever got tagged went in the middle. Before too long there were more taggers to get people. My legs actually hurt today from running (and it's two days after the fact). Mica's pretty good at tag! Isaak doesn't comprehend too much direction yet; he also isn't a fast runner at all. We also had stations with a parachute and balls, jump rope and hop balls. Both Mica and Isaak could not figure out how to jump rope. Mica started to cry because he couldn't figure out this task. :( Did I ever mention that Mica's a major perfectionist? He gets mad at himself when he can't get something done right. Daddy tried showing him. Then the lady in charge came over and showed him that he can pretend to jump rope without the rope. She said, "It just takes some coordination." I loved jumping rope and quickly realized how much I missed it.

Skip the Gym?
I'm not skipping the gym. We just got a membership two months ago. I don't want to skip it; it's fun! We actually got trained in the weight room last night. I'm excited to start in that room. So far we've mostly been into swimming.
I did want to let you in on something cool though: Acacia has weekly exercises you can do at home on their site! That is so cool! They also sell clothing, so if you need some comfy clothes to do those exercises in, well you get the point.

To Eat Less or Not?
When it comes to eating veggies most of us need to eat more! Carbs, meat and even some fruits could be consumed less.
I started using small plates for us at home. I notice our plates look full, but we actually eat less. With meat, we slice it down the center or pound it flat. Again it looks like we're eating just as much as we used to, but in fact eating less of it.
I add a bowl full of veggies. This is something many people don't get enough of!
Surprise! We all feel full.

Swimming
We've been going swimming 2 nights a week for nearly two months. I love going swimming as a family. One of us gets to work with the kids, while the other swims laps. Then we switch off. Tonight was the first night the boys actually had swim lessons. We both sat on the bench and watched our boys have fun. I think in the future one of us will weight lift, while the other watches. Since it was our first time we did not know what to expect. Both kids did great.
