Last Night I Drank Veggie Tea

I steamed broccoli. I usually water the plants with the water. Instead I added tea and drank it myself. More broccoli and liquid for me. It really didn't taste too bad with tea added!

Jason - Every Natural Care

I have to say that my New Years Resolution is to read labels on bath products more! That is one are I've been horrible with! They have less FDA regulations then food. We put on all kinds of chemicals on our skin! I had a big wake up call when I had an allergic reaction to Methosulphate, which was in one of our lotions. Hives covered my already damaged leg. I also have a big old bruise.

I read online that some people that are allergic to Sulpha are allergic to Methosulphate. Then other places I found no relation at all. Who knows, but I don't want to be putting that crap on my skin anymore! My kids could be sensitive towards it to. I'm trying to be careful.

I've been using Tropical Traditions Lotions and Jason's products.

Wholesome Snacks

My sons most certainly have a sweet tooth. I try and make them thing with coconut oil and whole wheat flour. Sometime I just have to tell them, "Nope you can't have a sweet treat, pick something out of the veggie drawer in the fridge."

I love Land O' Lakes! They have good eggs that are all-natural. It's super important to me what type of eggs I buy. I never really knew the difference, but the all-natural, brown eggs are not as high in cholesterol.

A Lotion I Can Trust

Since I had my allergic reaction (with hives covering my legs) last week. I've been on the lookout for all natural lotion. Methosulphate is a bad ingredient! I saw online that many people who are allergic to Sulfa are allergic to this ingredient as well.

Scary Truth

I just had a really bad allergic reaction to Methosulphate. It was in a lotion I was using. I had hives all over my legs from lotion!

Boogie Board

Do you ever go to the store and forget to get something? I sometimes feel like I should have an ongoing list! Something to jot down notes at all times. I'm an artist, so my notes have doodles on them. New Age Mama is giving away this modern day note pad called, " Boogie Board."

Sweet Potato Soup

I love the taste of this soup!

Combine over medium heat:

• Coconut Oil
• 1 medium to large chopped onion
• 2 cloves minced garlic

Sauté for 1 minute.

Add:

• 2 uncooked and chopped sweet potatoes
• 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
• salt and black pepper to taste
• 6 cups chicken broth

Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until the potatoes are tender. Roughly 30 minutes.

Puree: 

• Take 1/2 the soup and blend in a blender. Start out slow!  
• Dump the soup in another container. Blend the rest of the soup. Pour the rest of the soup in the same container as the first batch.

Stir in:

• Coconut Peanut Butter 
• Raw Honey

Stir until they melt. Serve hot.

It is so good!!!!

Recipe Rock

This product is something I've never seen before. It looks really handy! It's for recipes. I make most of my own food. This recipe rock holds your cards up for you. Not only that, but it has a magnet on it; you can attach it to your refrigerator. I spill a lot, so it sounds handy to me!

Healthier

Not only am I trying to be healthier in what I eat, I'm trying to be healthier in how I store my food. Many plastic containers are not BPA free!

Glass containers are the best. They still can be microwaved. The only sucky thing is, is that they are heavier then plastic.

Hubby and I Need to Relax

I noticed that we've been up tight a bit! I think it has to do with: A) I've been busy at work. B) He's been working on many projects at once. C) Kids (horse play and sound effects). D) My nephew has been in the hospital and really sick. I hate when my family members are hurting and sad!
